Research Interests
Signal Transduction and Cell Signaling, Host-Pathogen Biology, Microbiology

Research Description

Cell-cell signaling in bacteria, a process termed Quorum Sensing. We are identifying the chemical signals and signaling pathways used by bacteria to control population-wide behaviors, which include their ability to cause disease in humans. Eventually we hope to discover means by which we can interfere with bacteria's communication processes and ultimately alter the progression of bacterial infections.
