Matsumura, PhilipPh.D., Rochester University Research Interests Research Description Mechanisms of signal transduction in bacterial chemotaxis. By combining genetics with biochemistry and structural chemistry, we are defining the detailed protein-protein interactions that constitute the biochemical pathway of signal transduction.
McLachlan, AlanPh.D., University of Aberdeen, Scotland Research Interests Research Description Regulation of hepatitis B virus transcription and replication
Mehta, DollyPh.D., Delhi University, India Research Interests Research Description Rho regulation of actin polymerization.
Merrill, BradPh.D., University of California, San Diego Research Interests Research Description We examine how transcription factors determine cell fates, with a particular focus on effects on stem cells and during carcinogenesis.
Minshall, RichardPh.D., University of Illinois at Chicago Research Interests Research Description Investigates signaling mechanisms regulating paracellular and transcellular permeability of the endothelium to macromolecules and therapeutic agents. Confocal microscopy, physiological, molecular, cellular, and biochemical approaches are used to study trafficking of caveolae, organization and remodeling of the cytoskeleton and cell-cell junctions, protein and fluid permeability, and signaling modules that regulate endothelial cell function. Current projects focus on 1) the signaling molecules that regulate caveolae-mediated endocytosis and transcytosis, 2) delivery of therapeutic agents across the vascular barrier, and 3) the role of caveolae in inflammation-induced increase in permeability.
